Ard Sunflower Crèche is located on the lower ground floor of Adelaide Road Presbyterian Church. It is a community (not-for-profit) facility for children of parents on social welfare, low income or wishing to return to employment, education or training.
The aim of the group is to welcome each child into a safe, secure and loving environment where they will be cared for by qualified and skilled staff who understands the needs of children. By providing a wide variety of activities and a stimulating programme the development of each child is enhanced.
Ard Sunflower Crèche operates with a Christian ethos. In 2008 the crèche won a “Centre of Excellence” award by the National Children’s Nursery Association.
This ministry provides a service for around 30 children. Babies, toddlers and preschoolers from the local area are welcome. It is open from 8am to 6pm each day from Monday to Friday. Four meals are served daily to ensure a well balanced diet.
Full time, part time and sessional places are offered. From January 2010 free preschool places will be offered under the Early Childhood Care and Education Scheme.
